Melaleuca Enterprises was established by Michelle McKemey (nee Higgins) in 2008 to meet with local demand for environmental and cultural consultancy services. Michelle is a professional environmental scientist with over 18 years of experience CV_2020_brief_Michelle_McKemey. She studied environmental science at the University of Queensland and was awarded first class Honours for her thesis on cross-cultural natural resource management at La Trobe University. She is currently studying her PhD on fire ecology and Indigenous natural resource management through the University of New England. Michelle has worked throughout Australia, including in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory, as well as working on conservation projects overseas. Michelle is the Principal of the business.
